Take It To The Max In Markofdistinction

Newturf

The incredible run continues for Buzz tipsters as we land another three wins on Thursday from just three suggested bets at Newturf virtual racecourse, including an each way bet on Shaolin de Bellouet who won the Long Walk Hurdle and paid a win dividend of £10.60 for a £1 unit stake. Tipping just doesn’t get any better than this.

NewturfMoving on to Friday’s action and we have a six race card to look forward to, with four races on the flat and two over hurdles. The races we like the look of most from a betting point of view are the Bahri Derby and the Markofdistinction Derby. In the Bahri Derby, Anouchka Sw gives the impression of a horse that has lost her way and is probably past her best. A number of these at the lower end of the card just don’t look good enough and this leaves us with three stand-out contenders in Esperance, Ut Pluvia and Attila Sw. Judging by their performances in their respective Royal Team Cup Qualifiers, there should not be much between this trio on ground that will be identical to that they encountered then.

Ut Pluvia edged out Esperance when they finished second and fourth respectively in their qualifier and she can be expected to do so again. Attila Sw also finished second in his qualifier in a time which would suggest he could split the pair. However, it is clear Attila Sw intends to put his high level of fitness and abundance of stamina to good use here and many might expect that to be enough to see him come out on top over this longer trip. That could see Attila Sw sent of favourite but I fancy it could be worth taking a chance that the pacier Ut Pluvia can still see him off and he is the selection.

Our best bet of the day comes in the Markofdistinction Derby, a 1000m G2 sprint for two year old horses. Generally speaking, these sprints can be so competitive, with so much variation in the results, that we would advise steering clear of them altogether. However, in this case, the race does not appear to be as tight as might be expected and there are a couple of them that stand out from the remainder.

Africa Patrivan twice finished runner-up in just two attempts in Golden Races on very soft ground last season and that alone is sufficient to see him put up as favourite to go one better here. He has demonstrated his well being this season with a recent victory in a Sprint Cup Qualifier. Zico de Sky and Sensibility amongst others clearly have the ability to feature too but the one we want to be on is Maxidon. The Back Street Stables owned colt has won or been placed in each of his three attempts in Golden Races so far and all have come in races where there was cut in the ground. He ran second in his own Sprint Cup Qualifier on the same day as Africa Patrivan and recorded a slower time but that was on unsuitably quick ground. With the cut he enjoys today and the blinkers on to sharpen him up, we rate Maxidon a solid win bet.
