Riverball Set To Roll

Newturf virtual racecourse

A sixth consecutive winning day for followers of Buzz tipsters as our best bet of the day for Saturday, Amber Girl, scores as predicted with a generous return of £6.80 for a £1 unit stake. If you’re not already following our selections on a daily basis, its time you started. We are spoilt for choice again on Sunday with a bumper five race card from Newturf virtual racecourse and remember all races can be viewed live every evening, right here on Buzz.

Newturf virtual racecourseThe first race we’re going to take a look at is the Lahib Derby (19:50 Newturf.) The two to focus on here are Derniere Chance and Flaganie Vygar. Derniere Chance was a winner for us earlier this week and he is hard to oppose on this desperate ground which the colt clearly loves. This is far from a one-horse race, however, with two or three capable of running him close. The one we expect will give him most to do this time is the filly, Flaganie Vygar. She has plenty of pace and seems to handle the soft ok, as she showed when winning an RTC qualifier recently. A market move for She Rocks could also be significant.

The Dubai Destination Derby (20:00 Newturf) looks like a minefield. At the top of the card, Fireball is clearly a class act but I suspect conditions won’t suit him particularly well on this occasion. Bomber Woman is perhaps the most likely winner and Ronda Mikalotie certainly commands respect on this ground. Not a race to get too heavily involved in at short prices but it could pay to have a little each-way on something less obvious. Melly Borealis certainly has a lot to prove at this level but she has bits and pieces of form where she has demonstrated good pace on soft ground. She could surprise and might not be too far away at decent odds.

The Sublimity Hurdle (20:10 Newturf) is a competitive looking affair and also interesting from a betting perspective. Warhead and Aethon both have strong claims but the one I like best is Jemchipsa Riverball. The Mid Dancer Hurdle is the key piece of form to concentrate on as it also took place on bottomless ground. On this occasion, Jemchipsa Riverball saw of his principal rivals and can be expected to repeat the feat here, in a race he appears to have been laid out for. The possible fly in the ointment is Fruit O’Kul who also appears to relish these muddy conditions and is one to include in any forecast calculations.

The final race of interest is the Mid Dancer Hurdle (20:20 Newturf) where Talisman Jam looks a cut above his rivals and seems well at home on the soft. Providing the odds are not too prohibitive, he rates a solid win bet.
