The Sunday afternoon five-pack at BEL produced some very quick times and some very high speed ratings but no one was as quick as Bottom Line, who nearly broke the track record going 1 1/16 miles over a very firm turf and earned a top-notch 100-speed rating for his efforts.

Treble Cleff (7.05) dropped way down in class after a disappointing effort at DMR and led every step of the way en route to a sharp win by a head. Court Masterpiece (17.70) made a bold run at the leaders midway down the lane and wound up with one of the best efforts in her career while second. Snortable Grenade (*1.35) came back off very short rest at a higher level and pressed quicker fractions before tiring. Relampaga (6.50) broke slowly and could only manage a midpack placing. Sweet Carat (3.15) was one-paced for much of the race. Erogenous Zone (3.90) never took a forward step.

El Jerrid (5.85) stretched out in distance, took the lead inside the furlong pole and held sway late to record his first win since April at PHA. Celestial Peace (4.25) came in from DMR to face similar on the main track and ran on late to miss by a head in second. Good Night Kiss (6.65) jumped up in class and made steady progress from late to complete the trifecta. Makaveli (5.40) fell back through the middle stages before coming on again for a small share. Steady Eddie (*3.10) was made the tepid favourite and pressed the leaders early before faltering. Trip (9.60) was done at the top of the lane. Maximum Warp Speed (5.15) failed to fire down the stretch. Easylikesunday (16.85) was no factor.

Bottom Line (5.10) got back out to a route of ground and came up with a tremendous three-length victory while missing the track record by .09 seconds. Aim High (*1.30) was made the choice despite a lack of major success going long on turf and ran on from the back of the pack to claim second money. Key Decision (2.85) set the pace to the top of the lane and faltered into third over the final furlong. Inverted Seniority (9.50) dropped from Grade II company and actually finished farther behind easier company. Soviet Snow (7.05) had no late momentum. Thingymajig (8.20) pressed the leaders before backing through the field.

Easter (*0.70) continued to climb up the starter allowance ladder and took home a sixth win in seven seasonal starts with another top class effort. The Fighting Irish (49.70) came back off the layoff for new connections and took the lead at the top of the lane before getting outfinished for the win by a very tough rival. Three Three Three (4.50) took on older runners and set the pace before weakened into third. Road Work (1.55) trailed.
