HorseRacingPark Longshots OTB Cup Wrap Up

This is Lucky McLuciano reporting from FE on this weekend’s FE Longshots OTB Cup!

What a race it turned out to be.  Negdogs Busanda was the race time favorite going off at even money. Could she pull it out for the fans at Fort Erie? Bloody Slow Horse got off to a great start on the rail followed by Negdogs Busanda and Nantan Victory. Dogmarta challenged the early speed and never gave up position.

The four early pace setters battled to the first turn with all horses challenging each other. The key rail position for Bloody Slow Horse would prove to be advantageous as she looked to take the short trip as they headed around the turn. Tasmanian Tessa and Laffin Lass the closers started to make a move to the leaders. As they headed around the final turn and into the back stretch they were six wide. The roar of the crowd was loud as they headed into the final furlong. With a lot of checking and bumping going on, Bloody Slow Horse used the rail to her advantage and was all out to the finish line. Congratulations to this years OTB Lonshots Cup winner, Essendon Fc’s Bloody Slow Horse!

FINAL RESULTS:

Bloody Slow Horse

Essendon Fc WV bred filly was too much today and proved she could run on the rail taking the perfect short trip to win the Cup! Where does she go next?

Twice The Urshalim

TwinTowers horse was a race day, off track scratch.

Dogmarta

Alydar Stables Dogmarta battled inside with the early speed and could never squeeze through the leaders.

Tasmanian Tessa

Riggins Racing horse was coming late after chasing the leaders and ran out of running room. May be stretched out next race.

Faithful Kancha

Faithful Kancha was never a factor and was outclassed here.

Nantan Victory

Ekli Stables beautiful FL bred grey filly never let Negdogs Busanda get in front of her and ran a great trip for 2nd!.

Laffin Lass

Serenity Stables non-winner showed late speed and could be dangerous in her next Maiden race. Keep an eye on her.

Negdogs Busanda

Negdog Racing’s black FL bred filly got off to a fast start but could never get to the rail. Jockey was forced to take her 4-6 wide the whole trip stayed up for the show. Tuff trip.

Annie Laurie
Running Bear’s black filly was scratched before the race and I am guessing because of the off track.

Track Condition: Good
