Welcome to todays features, futures and daily fixtures, 29/4/2011.
Today I’m having a look in to the Galileo Derby a flat G1 race at the maximum distance 3000m, the going will be soft but the racing will be hot!
My featured horse is top filly Passei tof from the barn of Tilucky and trained by Liligrenouille.
Passei tof a favorite of mine, having competed against her for the 3000m HoF earlier this season, is showing unbeatable form coming in to this event. The likes of which have been her outstanding win in the Melbourne Cup Final 2200m against 9 top class runners, then to back it up for the Churchill Downs D. 3000m a prelude to today’s race. Also worth special mention is that she has qualified for the Hof 1600m-3000m some 20 times this month!
She has been beaten by Destinée Mortelle another fine filly, this was a graded race over 1600m on the firm, also Master Blaster and Destinée Mortelle got up against her in a 3000m on the good. Antipasti got one up on the filly in a 1600m on the soft on the 14th of this month by a short margin.
So without the likes of Master Blaster there are only a couple here today that I think will challenge Passei tof for the win.
My Picks:
- Passei tof on top because of 3000m form, and in Melbourne Cup
- Destinée Mortelle consistent bridesmaid
- Antipasti will get the soft going
* this will be the 1st time these competitors have competed over the soft going at this distance, this may give Antipasti the edge.
Rogue Outsider:
* Anzelita Sills
