Our best bet for Monday was unfortunately a faller when still very much in contention. No point in dwelling though and we have a very interesting three race card to look forward to from Newturf Virtual Racecourse on Tuesday evening and some exciting betting opportunities.
First race for us to examine is the Ksar Derby (19:30 Newturf), a G1 1200m sprint for seven year old horses. Eucalypthus is a true top-class performer and has never been out of the frame in 21 starts in Golden Races at both sprint and classic distances and on all types of ground. She should never be discounted lightly and it would be no surprise to see her go close once more. I believe the key piece of form to examine for this race is the Rainbow Quest Derby which took place on the same good ground we will have today and in which Eucalypthus finished second to Titan. Also in behind that day were Doppelganger and Rita du Corta and I see no reason why they should reverse placings. The one that looks most likely to improve is fifth placed, The Rectifier and he rates a real danger to Titan. Further down the race card, Bosco Celebre is another that must come into any forecast calculations.

The Camelot Derby (19:50 Newturf) appears to be a little more straightforward. The two to focus on here are Odile and Inspire Me. These two (and Alice Schwarzer) have met twice previously in the Sea The Stars Derby and the Shanghai Derby and on both occasions Odile has come out on top. True, both those races were on slightly softer ground than they will encounter here but I can’t see that being sufficient for a turnaround in form. Some of the others in the field are also capable types but I would be surprised if any of them can topple the selection.
The Mysilv Hurdle (20:20 Newturf) looks interesting. Artilleur is entitled to go off favourite on the back of his recent win in the Line Marine Hurdle, where he had Boswer des Murailles behind in third place. The ground was soft that day however and I fancy Boswer can avenge that defeat on this firmer surface. The pair also met a couple of days prior to the Line Marine in a little race on yielding ground. On this occasion it was very tight but Boswer came out on top. With the ground a little firmer still today and the blinkers on, I expect Boswer des Murailles to dominate once more. Tricast calculations are more difficult with Arcla, Jemchipsa Newton and Jemchipsa Primebit all worthy of consideration.
