Some big name horses lined up for the most recent of the Saratoga Sprint Qualifiers, particularly in the colts’ division where Black Lotus and Chrisman had their prolific winners, King Domination and Purple King entered. Two colts which between them have won in excess of $40,000.
It was a case of making hay while the sun shines in Friday’s Juvenile Classic Qualifier for 2yo Colts. Just 24 hours after Inxs had sent out Dakota Celery to win the Juvenile Stayers Qualifier, the owner made the decision to make the most of the favorable muddy dirt track conditions on course in America and let his star colt take his chance again.
Thursday evening’s racing from the virtual ractracks at Digiturf centered around this season’s new two year olds with the highlights of the day being the Juvenile Stayers Qualifiers, hosted on this occasion on the dirt track in America for the colts and on the turf in England for the fillies. Both events boasted quality in abundance and each produced impressive winning performances.
At this early stage of the season, the divisions of qualifying events we look forward to most from Digiturf are the Juvenile Qualifiers. Some tall home reputations are put to the test, dark horses are unveiled in public and future stars emerge from the new generation of virtual equine athletes.
After the final hammer came down on Digiturf’s latest auction, the message from Trezza Stables stated, “I am killing my last 26 horses in the barn. I have no more bonuses and therefore, the game is over for me” and concluded, “I am logging off never to return.”
